The next PhIG meeting will be hosted by Graeme Deutscher on Monday 15th August commencing at 10:00 am. The Agenda will be as follows: Know Your Camera: The camera topic will be: ‘Depth of Field’ : The photo subject for the September meeting (brought forward from the October meeting) is ‘Portraits’. A good portrait picture usually requires that the subject’s face is in perfect focus but the background is out of focus to minimise any distraction. A good portrait therefore requires a small depth of field. Some time ago Claude posted links to a couple of training videos on ‘Depth of Field’ (DoF) and there are plenty of training videos available. The meeting will start with a review with a couple of the better training videos (about 25 mins) followed by a discussion on the topic. Unless there are some other topics members wish to discuss the suggestion is that we use our cameras to apply the results of the DoF session to take some portrait photos of each other at the meeting. Microsoft Pix Demo: Robert Bonella has downloaded the new Microsoft Pix application into his 'phone and will provide a demo of it at the meeting. Future Camera Topics: Possible 'Know your Camera' topics include:
Discussion topic 3: Please suggest a topic Photo Critique: The photo topic will be ‘Darling Harbour Photo Shoot’ where we will critique some of the best photos taken during the photo shoot outing to the Maritime Museum. As you will recall we don’t have a specific subject for this photos shoot and so feel free to photograph anything you think is worth it. For those who don't make it to the Maritime Museum photo shoot feel free to submit any 5 photos you would like critiqued. Could members please e-mail me their 5 photos and I will put them into a PowerPoint presentation to allow us to quickly go backwards and forwards between the photos. Comments are closed.
